Our firm's experience over the past three decades has been broad. Mr. Hackney has held every position from a managing partner of a large law firm with four offices, to a sole practitioner. He has handled matters ranging from multimillion dollar mergers to murder trials. His broad corporate law experience has ranged from representing “Mom and  Pop” type companies to major domestic and international corporations. He has been involved in mergers involving Fortune 500 companies as well as private companies.

During his career he has been involved in historic cases, including the Mel Fisher cases involving the Spanish treasure galleon, the Atocha. He was involved in litigation arising from the Mariel boatlift, and was on the docks at the Navy base in Key West during the boatlift, while boats were streaming into the base and thousands of Cuban refugees were being processed on the docks. He represented treasure salvage companies on Florida’s Treasure Coast, which derived its name from the sinking of a treasure fleet during a hurricane in 1715.
